Helping out at the Hospital
Do you have some spare time?
Do you have a couple of free hours a week? The Friends of Chichester hospital are currently recruiting volunteers to work in their shop at St. Richard’s and/or take the trolley around some of the wards. They also need admin help in the office, it would be helpful if are familiar with excel, but not essential. The work is fun and interesting and is a great way to get more involved in the local community. The Friends help raise money for equipment and resources for the hospital and also provides a valuable service to staff and patients. You can read more about the work of the Friends at https://www.friendsofchichesterhospitals.org.uk/
If you are interested or want to know more, please email admin@friendsofchichesterhospitals.org.uk
A Member needs help with her book
A member of the non-fiction book group has asked, and:
This is a very ‘big ask,’ as they say so annoyingly nowadays, but I urgently need help to complete—and hopefully publish the memoir I’ve written and rewritten countless times over the years, and being that I’m now ninety, I don’t have time to waste. However, any volunteer must be unshockable, because it’s not a fairy story!
If you would like to help, please respond here and we will put you in touch.

PROPOSED SPANISH FOR HOLIDAYS GROUP

If you just need enough to get by for your holidays then this may be the course for you. We are thinking of running a short 6 week course, which will cover the basics re ordering food, hotels, tickets etc. Classes will be weekly and run for two hours. If you are interested can you please contact the Groups Team here for further information.
RESISTANCE TRAINING CLASS

More members are needed to keep the numbers up for this class – held at Westgate Leisure Centre on Wednesdays at 13:55 – or it will close. This resistance training class uses primarily body weight and various equipment. We occasionally do a circuit, which includes a cardio element. Resistance training is vital for string muscles to support the skeleton and cardio helps to keep us fit and young. We always do a stretch out at the end, to relax the body and ease the mind. It’s a full service for your body.
If you’d like to try it out, just come to the leisure centre next Wednesday and ask at the desk for the u3a class with Melissa.
