Chichester u3a is a friendly, member-led organisation where people come together to learn, share interests, meet others and enjoy a wide range of activities.
What to expect from your membership
Your annual membership of £18 gives you full access to everything our organisation offers, including:
• Interest Groups: A diverse programme of learning and activity groups.
• Events: Monthly talks, social events, and regular coffee mornings.
• Community: Our regular newsletters and endless opportunities to meet and connect with other members.
An Important Note Before You Join
Membership does not guarantee a place in a particular interest group.
Our groups are not commercially run classes. They exist because members volunteer their time to organise and lead them, and many have limits on numbers because of the venue, the nature of the activity or simply what is manageable for the volunteer Group Leader. As a result, some of our most popular groups may be full or have waiting lists.
If a group you particularly want to join is full, please don’t be discouraged!
• New groups are being developed all the time.
• Our Groups Team will do its absolute best to help you find an alternative.
• You can register your interest so we know exactly where new demand lies.
u3a is something we create together
One of the things that makes u3a special is that members don’t simply attend — they make it happen.
You certainly don’t have to be an expert or take on a major commitment. New groups can be run by two or three people sharing the jobs, and our Groups Team will provide plenty of help and support.
So, if the activity you would love to join doesn’t currently have space, perhaps you might consider helping us create another one. Sometimes all a new group needs is someone prepared to get a few interested people together — we can help with the rest.
We hope you will join us not simply for one particular group, but to become part of the wider Chichester u3a community.

Membership Fees
- Standard Annual Subscription: £18 per person
- Associate Member subscription: £14 (for full members of another u3a group)
Note: Renewals are due by 1st September each year.
Special Offer for New Members:
If you join after 1st June, your subscription will cover you until 1st September of the following year—giving you up to 15 months for the price of 12!
