Quiz Night – 11th July, 2023 starting at 7:00pm at the White Swan, Bosham

The White Swan is on the A259 at the Bosham roundabout and there is plenty of parking. The 700 bus from Chichester stops just across the road. Although the 700 back to Chichester stops running before 9.30pm, one of the members will no doubt be happy to give you a lift home.

The cost of dinner is £14.50, not including dessert.

Booking is open from Friday, 30th June and closes 6th July. Payment is required, please, within 48 hours of booking in order to avoid any confusion on the night.

Group Notices

Calling all experienced U3A Bridge players

We would love to invite experienced U3A Bridge players to visit the new Bridge for Fun Group 2 occasionally to offer support and advice, helping us refine our bidding and scoring. We are mostly improver level. No regular commitment expected, just the occasional pop-in if you’re free.

We meet on Fridays at Donnington Hall, 10.00-12.00. If you feel you would like to help on an occasional basis please contact Jackie Easton here. Thank you

Possible Strength and Conditioning Class

The benefits of strength training for our age group are well-documented and significant, so we are trying to gauge the interest in a strength training class to be held at the Westgate Leisure Centre. There is currently studio availability on Tuesday and Wednesday afternoons, and the group size can be from 6 (minimum) to 30 participants. Depending on the size of the class the cost would be £6.30 per session, going down for a larger class.

If you think you might be interested, please contact us via the Groups Team, or contact Miriam at the Bulletin by replying to the Bulletin email.

APPEAL from the Short Tennis and Badminton groups – we need more players!

These two groups are relatively new, each group attracting 12-18 registered members. We would really like a core membership of 20 in each group in order to guarantee filling the two courts each week (to allow for members who are on holiday, ill, injured, on grandchild duty or just living life to the full!).

The two groups are great fun, the members are very friendly and welcoming.

Please do consider giving it a trial – just pop along for a taster session – we always have spare rackets available or for more details please contact Jackie Easton here.

Badminton meets on Thursday 10.00-12.00 at Westgate Leisure Centre (£4.30)

Short Tennis meets on Wednesday 2.00-4.00 at Westgate Leisure Centre (£4.30)
