Chichester u3a visit to Arundel Castle Tulip Festival 2023

Regarded as one of the best tulip festivals in Europe

We are organising a visit to this year’s Arundel Castle Tulip Festival on Thursday 20th April.
We are going by train, which means a little extra walking compared with going by car, and
our suggested programme for the day looks like this:-
Depart Chichester at 10.23 and arrive Arundel, after a quick change at Barnham, at 10.46.
The cost of the train ticket, with a Senior Rail Card is £3.60 each way.
Details at: https://www.arundelcastle.org/event/tulip-festival/

It is best to buy your entrance tickets for the Tulip Festival via the Arundel Castle website so
that you can walk straight into the garden on arrival. The Gardens are open from 10.00am
until 5pm and an adult garden-only ticket is £14.00 , or £15.40 with Gift Aid.

After walking through the Arundel Castle Gardens to see the tulips, we can have lunch and a
look around Arundel before catching a train home:-
Depart Arundel at 16:02, change at Barnham and arrive Chichester at 16:26.
Other trains are available!

The Head Gardener at Arundel Castle has said that the tulips should be at their most
magnificent over the few days either side of 24 th April. If you haven’t been to this event
before, or not for a few years, let’s meet on Platform 1 at Chichester in time to catch the
10.23 train on 20th April.

Presentation by Tony Whitbread, Chair of the Sussex Wildlife Trust

With increasing pressure on the natural world as a result of climate change, the need for improving the resilience of our biodiversity has never been greater.
