Chichester U3A Annual General Meeting – Advance Notice
THIS ADVANCE NOTICE IS TO GIVE YOU INFORMATION ABOUT OUR FORTHCOMING AGM AND TO PROVIDE DETAILS ABOUT HOW TO MAKE A NOMINATION, AND ALSO HOW TO VOTE BY PROXY IF YOU ARE UNABLE TO ATTEND THE AGM IN PERSON. PLEASE READ THE WHOLE DOCUMENT.
The AGM will be held on Thursday 21st May 2026 in the Assembly Room of The Council House, North Street, Chichester PO19 1LQ (1st floor with lift access)starting at 2pm.
Agenda
An agenda will be published on our Chichester u3a website in due course, together with reports from the Chair and Treasurer and up-to-date Accounts.
Committee Elections
In accordance with our constitution, only the Office of Hon Vice Chair will become vacant this year, as Jacky Easton, Patrick Doyle and Patricia Lock are all willing to stand again in Honorary Officer capacities for a further year. Caroline Cooper who was co-opted on to the Committee and who has acted as Hon Vice Chair during this year, is willing to stand for this role.
Peter Newland has indicated his intention to step down from the Committee at the AGM. The other co-opted members, Christian Gaze and Linda Llewellyn are willing to stand for election, and Alisatair Bennett, Barry Easton, Isobel Glover, Linda Nevill and Peter Robinson for re-election. This means that there is a vacancy on the Committee.
Any member can, of course, compete for the Honorary posts, or stand for a place on the committee, and are warmly invited to do so using the nomination form which is available on the website under ‘2026 AGM’ together with the Minutes of the 2025 AGM. Nominations should be proposed and seconded by two fellow members of Chichester u3a, and returned by hand or on-line to Patricia Lock HERE by Thursday, 7th May 2026.
Proxy Voting
Proxy voting forms, to be used in the event of a member being unable to attend the AGM in person, will be available on the website from Friday 8th May 2025, and will also be sent by post to members with no email address. If you plan to vote by proxy you will need to return the completed form by 20th May 2026 at the latest either by hand or to the Secretary via THIS LINK.
