Family History
Description
Primary category: HistoryThe aim is to provide instruction and help for you to research your family history in a structured manner.A short informal course for those who are beginning to explore their family history
This informal course will consist of several (typically 5 or 6) sessions with presentations, group discussions, practical workshops etc, depending on the topics and members’ interests. Detailed handouts will be available.
The sessions will be led by a u3a member with over 25 years of FH research experience. Examples and topics will mainly be based on English/Welsh records and it is hoped that others may offer input on topics such as military records, overseas records and DNA.
This U3A Family History Group is aimed primarily at those starting their family history research, however those with some experience usually find it helpful. To gain most benefit it is recommend that you aim to attend most sessions.
The next sessions are planned for early 2025. We are looking to meeting in central Chichester monthly on the mornings of the 2nd Monday of the month.
