Integrating art with education, the University of Chichester Art Collection has, over the last 50 years, sourced figurative and abstract pieces, which are on display in various parts of the University. We have arranged a special group visit to view some of these outstanding pieces, led by the Special Collections Manager, along with a short tour of the University to learn some of its history.
The walking tour is free for U3A members, takes about 2 hours, and does involve a number of staircases, although lifts are available. Some of the tour will be outside, walking between buildings. There will be a 20-minute stop for coffee on the campus.
This tour offers an interesting insight into our local University, and its links with the city. Places are limited to 15, so please do book early if you’d like to see works from some of the most important British artists of the twentieth century. The tour will take place at the Bishop Otter campus of the University of Chichester. Full joining instructions will be provided after booking. If required car parking can be arranged at £1.90 per hour via the University.
This event has proved to be very popular and all the places for the tour of the Art Gallery at the University of Chichester were booked within a few hours, and we have a waiting list. Due to the popularity of this event we will try to book a further tour in the autumn.
