A gentle reminder that membership subscriptions are due on 1st September.  A letter will be sent to each of you (either by email or by post) outlining the various payment options available and we do hope you will renew your membership.  We are pleased to let you know that the subscription remains unchanged from last year – £18 per individual member or £14.50 if you are an affiliated member.
For those of you who pay by standing order please note that you will need to check that the Standing Order has been updated to the correct amount.  Only you can do this, and only you can terminate the annual payment, should you wish to do so.  A Standing Order is not the same as a Direct Debit, where the amount is controlled by the recipient.  A Standing Order is controlled by you, the payer – we cannot either refuse or return the payment.
If you use online banking, you will be able to check or modify your Standing Order online.  Otherwise, you will need to contact your bank, either by phone or in person.
The committee, and member volunteers have worked very hard this past year providing Zoom for our monthly meetings and enabling our groups to continue online.  Your membership has allowed us to do this and we are looking forward to opening up more groups as rules are relaxed further.
Details of our fees and the different ways to renew your membership can be found on our website: www.chichesteru3a.org.uk/renewal/

Line Dancing

After a much delayed start due to Covid, the Line Dancing group is now up and running. We have had 3 classes so far and they have proved to provide a large helping of fun and fitness as promised. It certainly has health benefits as it helps enormously with balance, memory and coordination to name a few. You don’t need a partner as we all dance as individuals. We meet in the newly refurbished Donnington Parish Hall on Monday mornings from 10.30 to 11.30am. The class is popular and will run throughout the year except for Bank holidays and when our dance teacher is away. We have a couple of vacancies so if you are interested in giving it a go please contact me through the link below. I attach a photo of our group in action. Kind regards and keep dancing!

Writing for Fun

Writing for fun is a well-established group which can now welcome new members. The group meets monthly and members present their writings of up to 1000 words incorporating a given phrase and 100 words on a given topic. There is a choice for both activities which members are encouraged to suggest. “Writing for Fun” is not a creative writing group to enhance literary skills where contributions can sometimes provoke negative and destructive comment. Here the emphasis is on “fun” to encourage discussion and positive feedback; no literary skills are required or expected.

The group meets on the first Tuesday of the month (except August) from 10.30 am – 12.30 pm; it is hoped to re-commence on 7th September restrictions permitting. The venue is in south-east Chichester where the parking is currently unrestricted, and is within walking distance of two bus stops. The only cost is 50p to cover tea/coffee and biscuits.

Please contact via the U3A website and the group leader will then contact you
