It takes an Army of Volunteers…
.. so if you can spare a little time to help out please let us know.
To make these a success – Monthly Meetings, Coffee Mornings, pub quizzes, social events, outings etc – we are going to need help from within our membership, we can’t do it alone.
IF YOU CAN SPARE SOME OF YOUR TIME, NO MATTER HOW LONG OR SHORT, HOW REGULARLY OR JUST AS A ONE-OFF, please will you contact us here and one of our Committee members will phone or email you to discuss the best way of using your time, talents and enthusiasm.
July Monthly Meeting on Zoom

Brilliant British Humour in the Forgotten Art of the Picture Postcard: 1840-1950
Dr James Taylor, a former auctioneer and curator of the National Maritime Museum, Greenwich, will talk about artist-drawn comic postcards, the most popular art form from the Edwardian era to the outbreak of World War II. They entertained, inspired, instructed, motivated, persuaded and lifted-up the spirits. Discover the popular subjects and styles by the masters of the medium such as Mabel Lucie Attwell, Donald McGill and Fred Spurgin; and the reasons why their popularity waned with the British public. James has been collecting postcards for more than 45 years.
July Quiz on Zoom
The next quiz will be on Tuesday, July 20th, at 7:30PM.
Coffee Mornings by Zoom
The monthly Coffee Mornings by Zoom are being rested until the Autumn. By then, perhaps – who knows? – we will be able to hold Coffee Mornings live, in the Chichester Festival Theatre.
Sympathies to all those who were looking forward to Summer Tuesdays with coffee and friends.
Discussion Groups 1 and 2
The very long established discussion groups that meet on Monday mornings and Tuesday afternoons in Summersdale are keen to have some new contributors, COVID numbers permitting. If you may be interested please get in contact via the groups coordinator and the group leader will be pleased to provide further information.

Your Favourite Walks
This feature will now be taking a little rest. We hope it will return in the Autumn. Thank you very much to those of you who have already contributed to this section. Meanwhile, if you have a walk that you could send to us, please use this form, and we will be off to a flying start come September or October. You can see the collection of our walks here.
