You need a music stand and a descant, treble, tenor or bass recorder. You also need basic competence - eg if you can play the major scales of C, G, D, F and B flat (2 octaves is a bonus!), count 3/4 and 4/4 time signatures and know about minims, crotchets and quavers, you’ll be fine. If you can play two or more instruments, you’ll be doubly welcome as that allows more flexibility in our playing and choice of music.
I provide the music and we play all sorts from early to modern times (usually in parts doubled up). Regular attendance is desirable so that the group can develop and work up favourite pieces of music. We’ve played at the Thursday coffee morning a couple of times and in February 2020 we entered the Chichester Festival for Music, Dance and Speech with a little programme of four pieces, for which we were awarded Very Good (84-89 out of 100). Hopefully, we’ll have a go at that again!Venue: The Hornet, Chichester, near bus stops and 10 minutes walk from a car-park
