Coffee Morning

There will be a coffee morning next Wednesday, November 6th, from 10:00 to 12:00, in the Foyle Terrace at the Chichester Festival Theatre.
Come along for cakes and refreshments, meetings and conversations with friends, and opportunities to talk to committee members.
There are lots of things to talk about these days!
All in pleasant surroundings, and with convenient parking.

Volunteers Wanted

At Chichester College, a group called “Bridging Generations” brings older people together with 16-19 year old students in Health and Social Care, to help students feel more comfortable when talking to their elders. This enables students to improve their social skills and is part of their course work. It also enables elders to enjoy an hour or so chatting to the students, followed by lunch in the College Restaurant!

Meetings take place in the Students Union at the College every other Tuesday morning in term time from 11-12 noon. Students are mixed with elders around tables, with coffee and biscuits provided by the College. Topics are suggested to ensure that the conversation gets going and students are rotated to give elders a chance to talk to as many students as possible. Tutors are present, but students are free to chat as they wish.

One of our group leaders helps organise the events and other U3A members already take part. If you would like to join in, learn about the College and the Health and Social Care studies curriculum and help the students practise their communication skills, please contact the Groups Team and we will put you in touch with the organiser, who can tell you more.
