A Musical Offering

Weald & Downland Trust Summer Season

In another generous gesture, the Weald & Downland Trust Summer Season is offering Chichester U3A members a limited number of free places for a concert to be given on:

Sunday 25 August, 7 pm

The Nova Foresta Classical Players will perform alongside soprano Ruth Mills to give us an evening of romance in the company of Handel, Mozart, Vivaldi, Elgar and Gershwin. ‘Nova’ first formed in 2017 and since then have toured the country playing to sell-out audiences whilst providing a platform for the leading musicians of the future.

This will be held inside the Gridshell building at the top of the site. There will be a bar serving snacks and wine etc.

Follow the link and use the code (both in your Bulletin email) to claim your free tickets.

Places are limited and the codes will expire when the tickets are gone, so get in quick!

Groups News

Wine Tasting

The Group Leader writes: I have room for a few more on the reserve list; reserve list members are frequently invited to meetings at short notice when there will be a space at a tasting. This gives them the opportunity to see how we operate and allows more people to sample the six wines we usually taste. If anyone leaves the group, places go to those on the reserve list. We usually meet on the 2nd Monday in the month at my house in West Broyle.
If you are interested, please contact her or the Groups Team.

Serendipity Discussion Group

The Serendipity Discussion Group has two vacancies, so if you’d like to join a lively discussion of current affairs that takes place fortnightly on Friday mornings in a
central Chichester bistro, please contact the group leader.
More information is available on the group’s webpage where there is a contact form for the group leader. You may also contact him via the Groups Team.

The theme is Music from the 1940’s, 1950’s and 1960’s.  (Would that be the era of Frankie Laine? Johnny Ray? Yes, but my previous remark here was ambiguous – I don’t know whether they will be heard on the evening. Any other names from the distant past?)
