Dear Chichester U3A member,
This is the first Bulletin to be sent out using the Beacon system. Please note that the way in which we do this has yet to be determined, and the next few weeks may see some experiments. For example, this week the email will be the bulletin: this format has many limitations – no colour, no pictures, limited control over layout. In consequence, this is abbreviated, cutting out stale news and replacing some detail with links to the website. Another week might see the Bulletin as a Word document, attached to the email. This would allow many more features. The attachment does not have to be in Word format – others are available. And we could revert to something like the arrangement used for the last year, with an email linking to a Bulletin on the website. We would very much like to hear your views, when we have offered up a few of these variants. (Incidentally, now would be a good time for someone new to take over as Bulletin editor, so if you see yourself in that role, please let us know!)
